For most consumers, the thought that they’re not eating healthy food can be a scary proposition. The time, the effort and the expense of buying and cooking food can be a real shocker when they find out the food they are eating has been sabotaged. Yes, you heard that right! There is a controlled campaign going on right under your nose concerning our food supply. We have been lied to, deceived and literally made to eat food that has no business being called food.
Why Aren’t We Eating Healthy?
The food manufacturers and our very own FDA have a game going on and you, my friend, are the pawn. Even the First Lady, Michelle Obama is in on the deception. You see, the ground in which the giant corporate feedlots grow their food has been so depleted over the years from over-planting, pesticide use and genetically modified seeds that it has gotten harder and harder to get the nutrition our body needs. This has put us, the consumers, at a big disadvantage. We are forced to buy food that has lost its healthy nutrients and because the FDA has come down hard on organically grown food our choices are few and far between. Eating healthy has become a chore instead of a right.
Take a good look at the ingredients in your food and you will see just how far we have come in the deterioration of our food supply. Preservatives and chemicals are in almost everything we eat. Even foods we thought were safe are actually part of the big deception. Soy, which is marketed as a health food has been found to cause cancer because of its estrogen content. Corn is now 90% genetically modified and together with soy and wheat form the basis of almost two thirds of our daily calories.
Is Eating Healthy Becoming Obsolete
The FDA makes all the decisions regarding the health of our food yet we are no healthier as a nation than we were fifty years ago. In fact, based on their unwise decisions we have become a nation of obese, sickly people suffering from all kinds of maladies such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer.
Here Are A Few Examples Of How Eating Healthy Has Been Sabotaged Over The Years
- Aspartame – The FDA made a joke of the approval process with their lies, deceit and their bungling of the evidence presented. They also ignored the facts in the case and used company-sponsored tests as the basis of their decision to ultimately approve it even though Searle, the maker of aspartame, deliberately hid evidence, changed the tests to give a favorable result and covered up their mishandling of the information. We have been suffering for it ever since.
- Canola Oil – The FDA allowed this genetically modified food to be approved as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) by accepting a huge payoff from Canada. Unbeknownst to the average person, rapeseed, which is where canola oil comes from, has been shown to cause heart lesions, reduces the amount of vitamin E in the body and is better suited for industrial purposes as it is toxic to humans. But that didn’t stop the FDA from lying and saying that it has heart healthy benefits. Canola oil has higher omega-3 than most oils but like vegetable oil it is a trans-fat. This is not eating healthy. In fact, canola oil can be blamed for many of our heart problems over the past forty years as well as macular degeneration that many of our seniors are now suffering from.
- Milk – For those that lived in the early to middle 1900’s, the milkman was a normal part of everyday life. The sight of the milkman bringing fresh raw milk was a big part of a very healthy eating plan everyone followed. But the Dairy Association wanted their share of the big profits so they decided that pasteurization was the key to making this happen and with a big ad campaign pulled the wool over the entire milk drinking public and costs us our health. Because pasteurization’s high heat kills all the bacteria (both good and bad) milk has become a dead food. Eating healthy no longer consists of the benefits of raw milk according to the FDA. Since milk is known as liquid protein, it is not a good source of calcium yet this didn’t stop the FDA from lying to the public. The huge advertizing campaign put out by the Dairy Association insures that raw milk will never get its due even though the facts speak for themselves. Raw milk contains all 22 amino acids and does not cause allergies unlike pasteurized milk which is the main reason why allergies in children are at an all-time high and that most people around the world who drink regular milk are lactose intolerant.
- Genetically modified foods – Companies such as Monsanto and BASF have led the worldwide charge into forcing unhealthy GM food onto our plates. It has become big business and our health has suffered for it. Do you realize that the very weeds that Monsanto has targeted with their Roundup pesticide have now become super-resistant to the pesticides? GM food has been touted as the way to grow more food to help feed the world’s population but this has not been the case. GM seeds have ruined the surrounding flora and have depleted the soil they were meant to grow from. Animals and humans alike have been sickened by this unnatural food and the FDA still insists that it is healthy even though the evidence has shown it to be false. Because the FDA is run by Michael Taylor, the former Vice President of Monsanto, GM food will always have a place in our food supply.
Can We Still Make Eating Healthy Work For Us?
Eating healthy food is still the main objective for most people but you need to research what you buy in order to figure out if the ingredients are healthy or not. The best rule of thumb regarding ingredients is this: If you can’t pronounce the ingredients or it has more than a couple of ingredients, it is a processed food and you need to find natural alternatives. Making wise nutritional decisions in a world where eating healthy is frowned upon by the food manufacturers can be an uphill battle but if you arm yourself with the facts and make sure you eat what is natural you will have the upper hand when trying to eat healthy food. Remember, you have the power to force the food manufacturers to start making healthier food. That power lies in your wallet. Use it to your advantage and eating healthy will become a habit instead of a chore.
As you can see, the past fifty years have been very unkind to our health. We have suffered debilitating illnesses because of the mishandling of our food supply. The very people in charge of keeping us healthy have insured our demise and have made eating healthy food the demon with their lies and deceit. Don’t let the deception continue. Be aware of what you eat, what is in your food and how to prepare it so it remains fresh and healthy with all the vitamins and minerals it is supposed to have. That way you take back control of your eating healthy food decisions.
